John Christopher Donahue has been the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Federated Investors, Inc. since May 1998 and has been its Chairman since April 28, 2016. Mr. Donahue joined Federated in 1972 and is responsible for determining and developing Federated's long term strategies and goals. Previously, he served as the President at Federated Investment Counseling. Mr. Donahue also served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Federated Investment Management Company and Passport Research, Ltd. He was also the President and Chief Executive Officer at Federated Global Investment Management Corp. Mr. Donahue is a Member of the Management Board and Chairman of Federated MDTA LLC. He serves as the Chairman of Federated Investment Management Company, MDT Advisers, The Benedictine Society, Federated Global Investment Management Corp and Federated Equity Management Company of Pennsylvania. Mr. Donahue serves as the Chairman at Lumen Institute, Passport Research, Ltd., and Saint Vincent College. He is one of 13 children of John and Rhodora Donahue, who have made their Catholic faith the center of their family, which includes 84 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren. John Donahue, 88, who co-founded Federated in 1955 with two Central Catholic classmates, is the company's chairman. Mr. Donahue said several of his 12 siblings worked for Federated, including at least three sisters who left after they got married and started having children, "with great enthusiasm and success." His brother, Thomas, is Federated's chief financial officer. He is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
