John Latimer

John Latimer founded Capitol Advocacy, now one of the largest lobbying firms in Sacramento, in 1999. The firm specializes in health care, tort reform, consumer protection, business regulation, and labor and environmental issues. At 26 years old, La- timer became chief of staff for a Democratic member of the California legislature, and at 32 he ran for a State Assembly seat in the district where he grew up. After losing a close Democratic primary election, he left the legislature to form Capitol Advocacy. Today, the firm has more than 60 clients.
