Norman Waitt, Jr. co-founded PC-maker Gateway with his younger brother, Ted. However, Norm left Gateway in 1991 to start Waitt Media and Gold Circle Films. Waitt was executive producer for the studio’s biggest hit, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” which grossed $350 million worldwide in 2002. Waitt Media is now concentrating primarily on radio and billboards. Although Waitt keeps a low media profile, he ranked #1014 in the world’s billionaires of 2008, according to Forbes. Waitt has put his significant wealth to work giving back to the Siouxland of Iowa through the Kind World Foundation, which he created.
