A graduate of Trinity College, Mr. Simons is the managing partner of Corporate Fuel Partners, LLC, a firm that provides advice and capital to small and medium-sized companies, thus enabling them to acquire funds to grow their businesses. Previously, he was an executive vice president of Bank of America (formerly Fleet National Bank), responsible for small business, middle-market, and corporate banking in New York City. Following the September 11, 2001, World Trade Center disaster, he led Fleet and the banking community in launching a $150 million emergency fund to assist small and midsized downtown companies in need of immediate financial relief. He is currently on the board of the United Hospital Fund, the Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, and High 5 Tickets to the Arts. He is a member of the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund and a former chairman of the Lincoln Center Business Council. He is also a former trustee of the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
