This is about the only information available: The Zucker Organization announced that its chairman Donald Zucker received the Pillars of the Industry Award for Builder of the Year presented by the multifamily division of the National Association of Home Builders. The award was presented at the 10th anniversary gala of the Pillars of the Industry Awards, held in conjunction with NARB's first annual multifamily trends conference. The Pillars of the Industry award recognizes excellence in design, construction, management, marketing, and finance. The Builder of Year award, which is sponsored by Freddie Mac, honors superior career achievement by a multifamily builder. Zucker established The Zucker Organization in 1961. Among residential de velopments completed by The Zucker the Rivergate, the Future, and the West River House. Donald and Barbara Zucker’s foundation donated $61 million to the medical school founded by Hofstra University and Northwell Health, the organizations announced on Wednesday August 30 2017, leading to renaming the school for the couple. Most of the donation – or $50 million – will go towards a permanent endowment to provide students need-based scholarship support in the Zucker School of Medicine. Donald Zucker, 86, a New York City real estate developer from Sands Point, and his wife Barbara, donated to Northwell in the past.
