She is a past chair of Global Operations: Israel & Overseas Coordinating Council as well as Israel Initiatives formerly known as P2K. Ms. Young was the first woman to serve as the President of the Jewish Federation of Delaware. She has chaired Delaware’s annual campaign, Israel Emergency campaign, allocations committee, Endowment Committee and has served as co-chair of strategic planning. She has served as President of the Milton & Hattie Kutz Foundation, the Grand Opera House and chair of The Jewish Voice Editorial Committee. She has received awards from the Delaware Region National Conference of Christians and Jews, the Brandywine Chapter of National Society of Fund Raising Executives, the Grand Opera House Inc and the Chesapeake Bay Council, World of the Arts. In 2005 Ms. Young received the Irving S. Shapiro Community Builder Award. Ms. Young is the author of ”Becoming American, Remaining Jewish and The Grand Experience” and a contributing author of ”Delaware and the Jews” and “Seventy Five Years at the JCC”. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Goucher College and earned a Masters in Spanish from Harvard.
