Until 1999, Wendy Keys was the Executive Producer / Programming for the Film Society and a member of the selection committees of the New York Film Festival and New Directors/New Films, an annual series co-sponsored with the Museum of Modern Art. She currently sits on the Film Society' Board of Directors and is on the Executive Committee as well as two other board committees. Since 1972 she has directed and co-produced the Film Society's annual Gala Tribute to a major film artist. Among those honored have been John Huston, Laurence Olivier, Federico Fellini, Elizabeth Taylor, James Stewart, Bette Davis, Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Robert Altman, Clint Eastwood, Martin Scorsese, Mike Nichols, Al Pacino, Jane Fonda, Francis Ford Coppola, Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton and most recently, Meryl Streep. Two of these tributes were aired live on PBS as part of "Live from Lincoln Center." She retired in April, 2008 following the Streep tribute. She also serves on the board of directors of the Human Rights Watch and is the founder of the Toronto Committee for the organization and sits on several committees.
