The youngest son of our founder, Eric M. Hilton is former vice chairman of Hilton Hotels Corporation and has been involved with domestic and international strategic planning and property development. A 49-year veteran of Hilton Hotels Corporation, he began his career in 1949 and held a number of management positions at Hilton Hotels throughout the country. Prior to his election to vice chairman in 1993, Mr. Hilton served as executive vice president and a director of the corporation and as president and a director of Conrad International Hotels. He attended Texas Western College for two years and had just been accepted to the Cornell Hotel School when he was drafted and instead served as a radar specialist in the Korean War. He is a director the Little League Foundation and Three Square, for which he co-authored A Place at the Table: How Focused Philanthropy and Community Collaboration Built the Three Square Food Bank. In addition, he serves on the advisory board of the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston. Mr. Hilton previously served on the seven-member international jury that selects the recipient of the annual $2 million Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize and as chairman of the board of the BEST Foundation for a Drug-Free Tomorrow.
