Robert Charles Loudermilk Sr founded Aaron’s, a lease-to-own retailer, in 1955 with a $500 Robert Charles Loudermilk Sr., 95, who helped shape late 20th and early 21st century Atlanta through his businesses and his philanthropy funded by those successes, died Tuesday August 2 2022 from the effects of a stroke, his son Robert C. "Robin" Loudermilk said. In 1955, Loudermilk started Aaron’s, which grew rapidly He took the company public in 1982.He helped build the Omni and once owned the Atlanta Hawks and the Flames.
