Edwards joined Franklin Square Capital Partners (FS Investments) as a Senior Vice President in February 2015 with over 20 years of public policy experience on Capitol Hill and in the private sector. Edwards' Congressional experience includes having served as Staff Director and Counsel for the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit of the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services. He has advised members of Congress on a broad range of financial institution regulatory and policy matters, including oversight of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). In addition, Edwards was Staff Director and Counsel for the Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade and Technology, and has held leadership positions on a variety of committees and personal offices in the House and Senate for the last two decades. Most recently, Edwards was a Partner at Crowell & Moring LLP, where he was Chair of the firm's government affairs practice group. Edwards also served as Vice President in the Office of Government Affairs at the Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. In addition to lobbying for the investment bank, Edwards served as Secretary of Goldman's internal steering group tasked with overseeing the firm's implementation of global financial reforms. Edwards received his J.D. and LL.M. (with honors) from the John Marshall Law School, his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and his B.A. from Purdue University.
