Edward L Yingling

Edward Yingling is a partner in the firm’s Washington, DC office. His practice focuses on advising financial institutions and trade associations on regulatory and legislative matters, mergers and acquisitions, and enforcement matters, with particular emphasis on the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Yingling was President and CEO of the American Bankers Association (ABA). During his 26 years with the ABA, the largest trade association in the financial services industry, Mr. Yingling was involved in virtually every major regulatory and legislative issue facing the industry. He most recently played a lead role in the debates that culminated in the enactment of the Dodd-Frank Act, the most significant legislation relating to financial institutions in the past 50 years. Before becoming President and CEO of the ABA, he was in charge of the ABA’s legislative, legal, regulatory, tax, and policy development activities for twenty years. Mr. Yingling also served as Executive Vice President of the International Monetary Conference (IMC) and continues to be a special advisor to the IMC. REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS Represents Wells Fargo on a broad range of legislative issues. Provides legislative and regulatory representation to the American Bankers Association. Provides regulatory advice relating to the derivatives provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act to a major financial firm. Provided advice to a major insurance company on the applicability of the Dodd-Frank Act.
