Dennis J. Gilmore is chief operating officer for The First American Corporation and is expected to become chief executive officer of the Financial Services company following the proposed spin-off that will result in the separation of First Americanâs Financial Services businesses from its Information Solutions businesses. After a career in the lending industry, Gilmore joined TRTS Data Services in 1988. First American acquired the company in 1991 and Gilmore was named vice president and area manager, then was promoted to regional vice president two years later. In 1993, he moved to First American's title division to pioneer the Lenders Advantage program, the company's entry into centralized title and closing services. After his promotion to regional vice president and national director in 1996, Gilmore coordinated the expansion of the Lenders Advantage concept throughout the United States to create a uniform, nationwide title and escrow product. When First American and Experian joined forces in 1998, Gilmore became the first president of the resulting joint venture, First American Real Estate Solutions LLC. Gilmore holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from San Diego State University and a masterâs degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University.
