Ernest Calderón, a native of Morenci, Arizona, is the founder of Calderón Law Offices. He has practiced law in Arizona for over 25 years, focusing on business and government litigation, employment and labor law, administrative law, health care and professional licensing, education law, general business law and alternative dispute resolution. President Calderón formed Calderón Law Offices after serving as a Partner for many years with a large Phoenix, Arizona law firm. Prior to entering private practice, he served as the Director of Legal Affairs for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona, practiced as a litigation attorney for the Arizona Public Service Company and served as law clerk to Senior U.S. District Judge Walter E. Craig. He is a former President of the State Bar of Arizona, a past chair of the Roman Catholic Church of the Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Community Foundation, a member of the scholarly American Law Institute and is a Martindale-Hubbell “AV Preeminent” rated attorney. He is former president of the Grand Canyon Council Boy Scouts of America, a past president of Valley Leadership and he actively serves on the boards of several civic and community organizations including the Northern Arizona University Foundation and the American Red Cross, Grand Canyon Chapter. During his career, President Calderon has been appointed by six Arizona Governors to various boards and committees and he served on both Governor Janet Napolitano and Governor Jan Brewer’s Transition Teams. He was the 2004 Man of the Year for greater Phoenix and was a two term member of the Arizona Commission on Appellate Court Appointment. He received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University and his law degree from the University of Arizona. He was appointed to the Board of Regents in 2004.
