Kurt is a Director and the leader of McKinsey’s Americas Strategy Practice and Corporate Finance Practice. Kurt serves life and wealth management firms, P&C insurance companies, and retail banks on strategy, corporate finance, organization, operations, sales and marketing topics. He has been engaged in transformational, workout, and divestiture activities and has also led major strategy transformations at a number of financial institutions, across strategy diagnostics, formulation and implementation. Kurt has helped lead a number of change efforts in education over the past 10 years, including working with multiple chancellors in the New York City Department of Education, Harvard University, Teach for America, and other educational groups. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Carnegie Hall and is a member of the National Board of Directors of Teach for America. Kurt is an amateur classical pianist.
