Sharon King is the Director of the Ageing Programme for The Atlantic Philanthropies. Ms. King, a recognised leader in philanthropy, leads the foundation’s U.S. grantmaking efforts to address the health and economic security of the most vulnerable older adults and has global responsibilities for sharing the learning of the Ageing Programme. She is based in New York. Ms. King was previously President of the F.B. Heron Foundation, a private foundation that focuses on wealth creation strategies for low-income people and communities through market-rate investments, programme-related investments and core support grants. Prior to joining the Heron Foundation, Ms. King served as a Philanthropic Advisor in the Rockefeller Family Office, President of the Edward W. Hazen Foundation and a Program Officer at The Edna McConnell Clark Foundation. Ms. King currently serves as a Trustee of the Altman Foundation. She was a Director of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, BoardSource, and the Council on Foundations and served on its Global Philanthropy Committee. Ms. King also was Co-Chair of the More for Mission Investing Campaign.
