Loren K Carroll

Loren K. Carroll is currently an independent consultant, advisor and director to Smith International, Inc. From March 1994 until April 2006, Mr. Carroll served as President and Chief Executive Officer of M-I SWACO and Executive Vice-President of Smith International, Inc, a worldwide supplier of drilling fluids and related equipment and services to the oil and gas industry. M-I SWACO is owned 60% by Smith International, Inc. Mr. Carroll currently serves as a director of Forest Oil Corporation, Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc. and CGG Veritas, Inc. Mr. Carroll joined the Board in April 2007 and is a member of the Audit Committee and the Compensation Committee.
