Lee Rosenberg, “Rosy”, has a 25 year career and successful track record of entrepreneurship, both as founder, investor, board member, CEO and other senior management positions. He has a strong reputation for building companies in a broad range of industries, although his primary focus has been in the media/entertainment industries. Most importantly, Mr. Rosenberg has achieved well known respect for his abilities to work with and develop superior management teams. Mr. Rosenberg is Managing Partner and founding Principal of Kettle Partners, a venture capital fund, where he focused on “consumer-facing opportunities,” i.e., broadband converged content, entertainment and media driven transactions. He currently serves on the board of directors of portfolio companies Active Network (active.com), Sportvision (sportvision.com) and SurePayroll (surepayroll.com) and has served on several other portfolio companies, including MusicNow (musicnow.com) and Egreetings Network (egreetings.com). Mr. Rosenberg has focused most of his private equity investments in the media/entertainment field. MusicNow, formerly Full Audio, a Kettle Partners portfolio investment, develops legal digital music solutions that are offered to customers through marketing partners like Best Buy, SBC Yahoo!, DSL and Microsoft Windows Media. Egreetings Network, a digital greeting card company, was the first in the industry to deploy music greetings from leading recording stars, including Outkast, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, etc. Egreetings Network went public with an IPO in 2000, and was purchased outright by American Greetings in 2001. Sportvision is the leading interactive sports marketing and technology company, developing products that enrich fans' interaction with sport, including the “virtual first and ten yellow line.” The Active Network is the leading provider of application and marketing services for the participatory activities and non-profit sectors. Prior to Kettle Partners, Mr. Rosenberg made important investments in entertainment properties. He was a shareholder and director of GRP Records, alongside Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen. GRP inaugurated the breakout of the compact disc era and over a four year period developed into the largest contemporary jazz record company, eventually selling to MCA, Inc, in 1990. Mr. Rosenberg also has investment holdings in entertainment venues, including the Park West, a premier live music and private events facility in Chicago. In addition, he has made significant investments in national touring theater, musicals and plays in Chicago and throughout North America. The key to Mr. Rosenberg’s successes have often been due to his early stage strategic initiatives and his relationships built with founders and management teams. Throughout his career, Mr. Rosenberg has been deeply involved in nurturing the growth of these early-stage ventures, working closely with management, often assuming day to day management responsibility, where required. As a result, he has assumed operating roles ranging from Chairman to CEO to CFO. Among these management roles have included companies such as Music Now (Chairman), Egreetings Network (Chairman), Kettle Partners (Managing Partner), Attitude Adjustment (CEO) and GRP Records (CFO). In addition to his entertainment investments, Mr. Rosenberg has been Founder and President of Rosenberg Capital and General Partner of Rosy Partnership, entities involved in a broader spectrum of private equity and real estate investments.
