Austin Ligon

Former Circuit City executive; co-founder of CarMax

Austin Ligon is the chairman of Gazelle’s board and takes an active role in developing the company's business strategy and retail partnerships. Austin brings 30 years of retail experience to the team: he was the co-founder, president and CEO of CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, from its creation in 1991 until his retirement in 2006. He has also served as Senior Vice President of Strategy for Circuit City and for the Marriott Corporation, and has been a senior consultant at Boston Consulting Group. Austin served as a Director at Gazelle from 2007 until 2011, when he was named chairman.
