The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today named Scott J. Eckart and Jason Matthews as new directors of the Congressional and Public Affairs Division. Eckart will lead the Chamber’s lobbying efforts on issues related to trade and competitiveness... Eckart previously worked for the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) as the vice president of Federal Affairs. In this position he served as chief liaison with members of Congress and ran the Globalization Project, an effort designed to provide intellectual capital to members of Congress regarding the benefits of trade. Eckart also served as development director for the Center for National Policy and in financial director positions for the Kerry/Edwards New Mexico Victory 2004 Coordinated Campaign, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and for the re-election campaign of former Congressman Harold Ford Jr.
