Cardiologist, inventor, issued 24 patents for various catheter stents and other medical devices and sold his firm for $300 million in 2021

Richard Heuser passed away on May 23rd 2024 while on an Alaskan cruise, He was 73 years old. With 24 patents granted for different catheters stents and other medical devices, Dr. Heuser has served as a principal investigator to research the safety and/or effectiveness of more than 100 medical devices and 50 pharmaceutical products, and has participated in more than 100 research studies. He was a Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, as well as past Director of the Interventional Fellowship Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix Campus. He is survived by his wife, Shari Heuser.
