Became very active in the "Freedom" Movement around COVID-19 issues and attended the Ottawa convoy protests. As "the last living First Minister who helped craft the charter" he has a great deal of constitutional clout in the movement, giving weight to his claims that COVID measures were unconstitutional. He viewed the firing of Tucker Carlson as bad "for all of those people who value truth."
