Pederson has organized anti-rainbow crosswalk protests, has run for office with the Solidarity Movement of Alberta, and was a key organizer for the Edmonton 1MillionMarch4Freedom. She was also a key Take Back Aberta organizer (until Pedersen fired her). She opposed her own town's joining the Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities, a Canadian network of over 100 communities committed to combatting racism and promoting human rights, diversity and inclusion (UNESCO priorities), because of its relationship to the United Nations, saying it “Council is willing to allow the United Nations, a foreign entity, to influence local policy, and so part of my platform was to expose what the council is up to and to say to the businessmen that I stand for localism, not globalism.” She calls rainbow crosswalks "favourtism" and "a form of bullying"
