Newgent says he regrets transitioning and that he has experienced multiple medical complications as a result of medical transition. He founded TRevoices (Trans Rational Educational Voices) at the domain transregretters.com. TRevoices works to prohibit the medical transition of children. Newgent participated in the anti-trans Daily Wire film "What is a Woman." Newgent is American but speaks at and supports Canadian events. On working with bigots, Newgent told Buck Angel: “they're using my voice to promote themselves… and I was okay with that for a long time because I, even in those circles. For the last two or three years I've gone and give speeches around in Evangelical places and podcasts and this and that and I had to sit through some really uncomfortable things that they said that I didn't agree with - a lot of things I did, you know. And I my knee-jerk reaction is “I just want to leave,” you know. That really hurt my feelings. But then I thought, “you know what, yeah, they're allowed to have their opinion that doesn't need to be the same opinion as mine. We agree on the medicalization of children and if I leave what I'm doing is just perpetuating the fact that people don't know what's going on.” And so I sat through all that uncomfortable stuff and people think “you know that ‘oh yeah he to Evangelical’--” yeah I'll work with anybody, you know. And you can have whatever voice that you want to have about homosexuality about religion about anything as, long as you are not trying to take somebody's rights away you can have whatever opinion you want.” He is opposed to parents calling thier children their prefered name and pronouns (until they are 25 years old).
