Neil John Maune, 62, passed Sunday, July 16, 2023 at his home in Manalapan, Florida. He is survived by his wife Diana Maune, sons Thomas and William Maune, and stepsons Aben and Garrett Johnson. Neil was born and raised on a small farm in Washington Missouri. He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he played football starting as an offensive guard all four years from 1979 to 1983. After college Neil was drafted to the Dallas Cowboys. Neil later took the money he earned in the NFL and returned to Notre Dame to complete a law degree and graduated cum laude. Neil founded a law firm in St. Louis focused on Mesothelioma cases. His firm has grown to one of the largest law firms in the country with over 400 employees and 11 offices. Neil was the founding partner and the national spokesperson representing the firm on every major network for the last twenty years. Neil and he is survived by his brother Steve Maune and sister JoAnn Kleekamp. Two other sisters Karen Maune and Patricia Shaver are both deceased. Neil's first wife, Summer passed away from cancer in 2018.
