Shrina Kurani was born in Riverside, California. Kurani earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Riverside in 2013. Her career experience includes working as the vice president of business and the chief of staff of the financial services company Republic, the CEO of FoodNest, and an engineer. She ran as a Democrat for election to the U.S. House to represent California's 41st Congressional District. She lost in the primary on June 7, 2022.
