Dolly Madison McKenna was the Republican nominee for the U. S. House of Representatives for the 25th District in Houston, Texas in 1992 and 1996. From 1986 to 1994 McKenna was president of McKenna & Co. a boutique investment bank focusing on energy development. Previously she was director of Finance and Acquisitions for Union Texas Petroleum an independent oil and gas subsidiary of Allied Chemical. From 1974 to 1982 McKenna was at Chemical Bank in New York, leaving as Vice President in charge of the bank’s multi-national oil and chemical company account relationships. In Houston she served on many boards and committees including the Houston Symphony, the Boys and Girls Club of America, Post Oak Montessori School, and the Museum of Fine Arts. She received a BA in English from Duke in 1971. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, John. Her two children Jay (’06) and Duncan (’09) both graduated from Duke.
