With loandirect.com, Hsieh gave the world its first online internet-based financial services company, offering on-line rate locks, disclosures, and loan documents through an online experience. The company remained one of the most profitable and successful mortgage lenders in the 1990s. It was acquired by E*TRADE Financial in 2001. In 2002 , Hsieh founded HomeLoanCenter.com, the first online lender to offer a full spectrum of home loan products including first and second mortgages and HELOC loans in all 50 states. It was merged with IAC/Interactive subsidiary LendingTree in 2004. Hsieh founded LosnDepot LLC in 2010. The first marketplace lender to offer American consumers a choice of credit products through purchase and refinance home loans, unsecured personal loans, and home equity loans on one convenient tech-enabled lending platform. In just 7 years, the company's top line revenue is over 1 Billion dollars, employs 6,000+ people, and has funded over 125 Billion in consumer loans. Hsieh is owner and angler of Team Bad Company, the world’s most successful big-game competitive fishing team. Team Bad Company has a fleet of boats strategically placed through the world including Cabo San Lucas, Kona Hawaii, Panama/Costa Rica and other exotic locations. The team has won more than $6 million in prizes, has caught Blue and Black Marlins exceeding 900 lbs., and has caught and released thousands of Marlins around the world.
