Jake Hoffman, 35,runs a Queen Creek advertising firm that has been paid nearly $1 million since 2019 by Turning Point Action and was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives. In October 2019, Facebook permanently banned Hoffman for operating what security experts called a "troll farm," where teenagers wrote posts on social media on behalf of Turning Point Action. Facebook described the activity as "coordinated inauthentic behavior" — essentially trolling by posting comments that appeared to be real people commenting on news and sharing right-wing opinions. Twitter also banned Hoffman and his affiliated accounts, according to The Washington Post, which broke the news.
