Sue Rohan, Vice President, Federal Programs, joined America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) in 2006. AHIP's members provide health insurance to over 200 million Americans. Ms. Rohan is responsible for policies concerning many health insurance programs overseen by the Federal government including Medicare, Medigap, and the Federal Employees Health Benefits program. Before joining AHIP, Ms. Rohan worked for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the legislative and public affairs arena from 2001 - 2006. Ms. Rohan also worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology on the Baldrige National Quality Program from 1994 - 2001, where she helped to develop the national criteria for improving quality in schools, universities, health care organizations, and businesses. Previously, Ms. Rohan was a Senior Advisor to the President at the University of Wisconsin where she was responsible for improving quality and organizational effectiveness of the twenty-six state universities. Ms. Rohan was a member of the Wisconsin State Legislature from 1985 to 1992 where she addressed many education and health policy issues. She also taught learning disabled students and served in administrative positions for the Madison Metropolitan School District in Wisconsin from 1973 to 1985. Ms. Rohan is completing a PH.D. in Public Policy from The George Washington University. She has Masters degrees in Public Policy from The George Washington University and in Educational Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
