Miriam Joelson Research Fellow Miriam Joelson is a Research Fellow at the Institute. She recently completed her M.S.W., with honors, from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. In previous roles, Miriam served as Special Assistant to Norman Atkins at Relay Graduate School of Education, as Special Projects Manager for Seth Andrew at Democracy Prep Public Schools, and as an Associate on Google’s Legal & Government Relations team. Throughout her education and career, she has supported multiple research efforts in K-16 education policy, including as an undergraduate at Brown University, for Dr. David Steiner at the Hunter College School of Education, and for Robert Pondiscio, Senior Fellow at the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation. Miriam studied the History & Policy of Education at Brown University (B.A.) and Higher Education at the University of Oxford (M.Sc.).
