Jason Hanselman's practice focuses on several areas related to government policy, including election law, campaign finance, gaming law, education law, and state contract procurement. Mr. Hanselman's clients include political parties and candidate, ballot question campaigns, businesses, public universities, school districts, and Native American tribes. Mr. Hanselman has been involved in the formation of dozens of new public charter schools on behalf of public universities, community colleges and intermediate school districts. Mr. Hanselman regularly represents the Michigan Republican Party and the Senate Republican Campaign Committee, along with Republican Presidential, Gubernatorial, and U.S. Senate candidates. In 2004, Mr. Hanselman was part of the legal team that successfully defended Mayor Kilpatrick's election in the 2005 Detroit mayoral recount. Prior to joining Dykema, Mr. Hanselman worked at the Michigan Supreme Court, State Court Administrative Office, the United States Internal Revenue Service and the Michigan House of Representatives.
