Paul Sagan

Mr. Sagan has been a Director of EMC since December 2007. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Akamai Technologies, Inc., a provider of services for accelerating the delivery of content and applications over the Internet, since April 2005 and President since May 1999. Mr. Sagan joined Akamai in October 1998 as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Sagan is also a Director of Akamai. A cousin of scientist Carl Sagan, Sagan was drafted to lead Akamai after the death of co-founder Daniel Lewin in the 911/ attacks on American aircraft. He worked at Time Warner Inc. where he rose to be president and editor of new media at Time Inc. He joined Akamai in 1998. On Dec. 17 2012, Sagan stepped down in favor of Akamai co-founder Tom Leighton, who will take charge Jan. 1. 2013
