Marla is Senior Advisor at Fireman Capital Partners. She joined the firm in 2009 and served as Partner from 2009-2017. She works closely with the team on deal evaluation and provides business development and strategy counsel to the portfolio companies. Prior to joining FCP and since 2006, Marla was the Founder of Sabo Strategic Partners, a firm providing advisory work both pre- and post- transaction in the private equity industry. Marla served as President of Christian Dior Americas from 2001-2006. She was responsible for the strategic growth and brand development during that period, a time when the business quintupled in revenue and became firmly placed as one of the top luxury brands in the world today. Prior to her role at Dior she held various senior executive positions in the industry, including the Senior Vice-President position at Hermes Americas reporting to the President, and Vice-President and Chief Merchant for all of the European and American Designer Ready-to-Wear areas at Saks Fifth Avenue. Her New York City career began at Bergdorf-Goodman where she started as a Buyer. Marla completed a Bachelor of Science in French/Secondary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1979 and also completed Continuing Masters Studies at the Universite de Paris-Sorbonne in Paris, France in 1984. She currently serves on the Board of CANarchy. Previously, she was Chairman of the Board of Skip Hop Inc., Newton Running and the Vice-Chairman, Board of Directors at Hudson Clothing, LLC. She is a Founder and Board member of the Luxury Education Foundation, which supports interdisciplinary work between Columbia University and Parsons School of Design; she is Secretary of the Board of the New York Landmarks Conservancy; she has served on the Board of the Foundation for IUP, which manages the university endowment investment strategy; and she has raised significant funding for women’s health issues and cancer.
