Peter Luster is a proud graduate of Indiana University and RISE INDY's Director of Campaigns. Previously, Peter worked as a Political Consultant and in an auxiliary capacity as the Executive Director of the Marion County Democratic Party in Indianapolis. Peter joined the Marion County Democratic Party after being appointed to Mayor Joe Hogsett’s cabinet as the Director of Neighborhoods for the City of Indianapolis. Peter also served as the Deputy Campaign Manager for Joe Hogsett’s 2015 Mayoral bid, successfully winning the Mayor’s Office after creating and implementing a grassroots, data-driven campaign. In 2016, Peter served as Hillary Clinton’s Outreach Director for the Indiana Primaries. He then transitioned to the General Election serving as the Political Director for Senator Evan Bayh's 2016 Senate campaign. Since 2008, Peter has served in a number of important positions in support of first Senator, later President Obama. As a Field Organizer in the 2007-2008 primary season, he worked closely with senior staff and was a key part of the team that clinched a victory in Indiana - establishing then-Senator Obama as a serious presidential contender during the 2008 election. Joining the 2012 presidential campaign, Peter was elevated to being the State Director for President Barack Obama in Indiana, where his primary responsibility was overseeing all programs and staffing in Indiana. After a successful campaign, he was asked to serve on the Presidential Inaugural Committee, leading the historic Day of Service in Indiana and working with elected officials and volunteers in service. Peter also served on the Advance Team for Obama for America as a press-aid.
