Anchorage, Alaska, native Kevin Carson had ambitions to be a professional cartoonist until he realized the local newspaper paid just 25 cents per cartoon. “So I began to enroll in urban planning courses with the thought that I could design beautiful cities,” he says. During his 30-year career, Carson has been involved with the planning, development and building of more than 15,000 homes in Northern California. He counts the development of McKinley Village in East Sacramento among his most notable accomplishments.
