Eric Roberts Department of Health Care Policy Eric Roberts, PhD, is a health economist whose work focuses on insurance and delivery system reform, with a particular interest in the effects of reform on access to care for disadvantaged populations. He received his PhD in health policy and management, with a con- centration in health economics, from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Roberts’ dissertation examined access to primary care for Medicaid adults with variable insurance coverage, and methodological issues surrounding the use of non-experimental data for Medicaid ben- eficiaries. Dr. Roberts is working with Ateev Mehrotra and Michael McWilliams to study the implementation of hospital global budgets in Maryland, and on a series of projects examining the relationship between market structure, prices, and quality. Dr. Roberts’s work has appeared in Health Affairs, Health Services Research, Medical Care Research & Review, and other policy journals. Dr. Robert’s dissertation work examined access to primary care services for low-income adults with variable insurance coverage. He also has a broad interest in health disparities and studying the impli- cations of insurance and delivery system reforms for socioeconomi- cally disadvantaged populations.
