Caio Koch-Weser

Vice Chairman, Deutsche Bank Group; former Deputy Minister of Finance for Germany; former Managing Director, Operations, World Bank Caio was German deputy minister of finance (state secretary) from 1999 to 2005. His responsibilities included international finance (G7 Deputy), European economic and financial affairs, as well as capital markets, banking and insurance. He was also chairman of the Supervisory Board of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). From 1973 to 1999, Caio was with the World Bank in Washington where he worked on Latin America, China, the Middle East and Africa, and held a number of high-level positions, serving as a member of the executive committee. He is a German and Brazilian national, born in Brazil.
