Neil M. Koehler

Neil Koehler is the co-Founder, director and chief executive officer of Pacific Ethanol, Inc., a company that produces and markets low-carbon ethanol while also developing other renewable fuel technolo- gies. Based in Sacramento, Pacific Ethanol currently operates biorefineries in Nebraska, Illinois, Idaho, Oregon and California. During his 30-plus years in the industry, Koehler co-founded Parallel Products, the state’s first ethanol production company. After selling the company in 1998, Koehler founded ethanol sales and distribution firm Kinergy Marketing in 2000. A board member of the Renewable Fuels Association since 1992, Koehler received the association’s prestigious Industry Award in 2017. He also serves as the director of the California Renewable Fuels Partnership.
