Judge Stephanie Dawkins Davis has served as a federal judge on the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan since December 2019. Judge Davis previously served as a Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan from 2016 to 2019. Before being selected as a Magistrate Judge in 2016, Judge Dawkins served 18 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan, including as Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney and in the Controlled Substances Unit. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Judge Davis was an attorney in private practice. Judge Dawkins received her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and her B.S. from Wichita State University.
