CARLOS G. CAMACHO was born in Agana, Guam, on November 16, 1924. He attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1946 to 1949 and received a D.D.S. degree from Marquette University in 1952. Camacho served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. His public offices include Administrative Clerk of the Government of Guam (1939-1941), and member of the Eighth Guam Legislature (1964). In 1969 he was appointed Governor of Guam and in November 1970 he was elected as the first Governor of Guam. Governor Camacho has been the Secretary of the Guam Dentist Society, a member of Delta Sigma Delta and Knights of Columbus. He is the father of Guam Governor Felix Perez Camacho.
