Jon Barfield

Jon Barfield is a partner based in Bain & Company’s New York office. He is an expert in the firm’s Healthcare and Private Equity practices. Since joining Bain in 2011, Jon has honed deep expertise across a range of industry sectors, specializing in pharmaceuticals, medtech and healthcare private equity. His core capabilities encompass R&D optimization, medical affairs strategy and distribution optimization. Jon has also conducted due diligence work across numerous industries and product categories, with an emphasis on advising funds on both private equity and distressed debt investing. Prior to joining Bain, Jon worked in the investment banking division of Barclays Capital (formerly Lehman Brothers) as a member of its global technology industry group. While there, his work focused on advising technology clients on equity financing and M&A opportunities. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard College.
