Mike Joo

Mike Joo is Managing Director and Global Head of Rates & Currencies Origination. Mike is responsible for interest rate and currency risk management for corporate and commercial clients globally. Previously, Mike was COO for Global Markets. As COO, he was responsible for strategy and key cross-platform business initiatives across sales, trading and research globally. He joined the company in 2006 as Head of Asia Debt Capital Markets, based in Hong Kong, and previously spent nearly ten years at Credit Suisse as head of Asia Debt Capital Markets. At Credit Suisse, he also focused on Investment Banking, Equity Capital Markets and derivatives coverage. Mr. Joo began his career in Capital Markets at Goldman Sachs in New York. Mr. Joo has also been involved in numerous advisory and financing projects for the Korean government and received various distinctions for his contributions during the Asian financial crisis. He was also selected an “Asia 21 Fellow” responsible for various initiatives in conjunction with the Asia Society. Mr. Joo holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from MIT.
