Sylvia Wildenstein

Sylvia Wildenstein died more than a decade ago, after finding that her two stepsons Alec and Guy Wildenstein had maneuvered her out her late husband's estate. Legal proceedings regarding the estate have continued after her death and revealed the family had been involved in massive tax fraud involving the global art market. Agents raiding Wildenstein vaults have turned up artworks long reported as missing, which fueled speculation that the family may have owned Nazi-looted or otherwise stolen art, and spurred a number of other lawsuits against the family in recent years. Sylvia Wildenstein died at home in Paris November 13,2010.
