Tammy Hooper

Hooper was appointed to the position as Chief of Police for the city of Asheville in 2015. "Prior to her arrival she served 26 years with the City of Alexandria, Virginia, where she retired as the Deputy Chief of Police. During her tenure in Alexandria, she served in command positions in every bureau of the department, including Patrol, Administration and Investigations. Chief Hooper is a graduate of George Mason University, Session 235 of the FBI National Academy, the Senior Management Institute for Police at Boston University, and the Professional Executive Leadership School at the University of Richmond."
