John J. Sicilian is a founding board member of 777 Partners. He is a founder of 1848 Capital Partners and 1221 Partners, Miami based private equity firms, where he has managed investments in Heartland Food Corp., the second-largest Burger King franchisee in the world, Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, Sunbelt Diversified Enterprises, Brazil Tower Company, and Jet Support Services, Inc., the largest independent provider of warranty coverage to the corporate aircraft industry. Sicilian currently is CIO of Juridica Asset Management, a manager of public and private third party litigation financing funds with over $600 million of assets under management, and Senior Advisor to Jetstream Aviation Capital, a manager of private aircraft leasing funds with over $150 million of assets under management. Previously, he has served on the board of directors of numerous travel and transportation-related companies, both public and private, including Pan American World Airways, ARINC, AgentWare, OneTravel, and Eastern Airlines, and was the Chairman, President, and General Counsel of the reorganized Eastern Airlines. In his roles at Eastern, Sicilian consummated over 150 transactions including regulated international route authorities, complex airport leasehold interests, and the acquisition of 130 aircraft, presided over the disposition of eight operating entities, resolved pension claims involving approximately 25,000 ex-employees, and negotiated the resolution of general labor, secured financing, environmental, frequent flyer plan-related and airport/landlord claims in excess of $15 billion. He began his career as an attorney with Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand and Ford & Harrison. He has a B.A., magna cum laude, from Holy Cross College and a J.D., cum laude, from Washington & Lee.
