As Partner at Kynetic and Chief of Staff to the CEO, Cherian works closely with internet entrepreneur Michael Rubin and the executive teams of Fanatics, Rue La La, and ShopRunner across a number of areas, including corporate and business development, strategy, executive recruiting, and operations. Rubin enlisted Cherian as Employee Number Two to help launch Kynetic immediately following eBay’s $2.4 billion acquisition of GSI Commerce in June 2011. Over the past five years, Cherian helped Rubin raise nearly one billion dollars in capital, recruit more than 30 C-level executives, complete seven strategic acquisitions, cultivate seven long-term strategic partnerships (including every major US professional sports league), and accelerate mobile sales. Kynetic’s founder also tapped Cherian to lead its aggressive push into mobile commerce, given his extensive mobile expertise. Cherian brought more than a decade of prior experience in building mobile technology businesses as a venture capital investor at Valhalla Partners, an operating executive at both the mobile start-up Virgin Mobile USA and the mobile business of NBC Universal/GE, and as a management consultant to mobile carriers and software firms at McKinsey & Company.
