François-Xavier (FX) is chairman Fof the Investment Banking Division (IBD). He is a member of the European Management Committee, Firmwide Client and Business Standards Committee, EMEA Conduct Risk Committee, IBD Executive Committee and Investment Banking Services (IBS) Leadership Group. FX is also co-chair of the IBD Client and Business Standards Committee. From 2014 to 2017, he served as global co-head of the Consumer Retail and Healthcare Group. Prior to this, FX was head of IBS in EMEA from 2011 to 2013 and head of the Financing Group in EMEA from 2008 to 2011. Before that, he was chief operating officer of IBD, based in New York, and from 2002 to 2007, served as head of Investment Banking for Switzerland. FX joined Goldman Sachs in 1993 in London and was named managing director in 2003 and partner in 2004. FX serves on the Board of Directors of the International Rescue Committee and is a member of the Young Global Leaders Network of the World Economic Forum. FX graduated with distinction from Hochschule St. Gallen and Community of European Management Schools in 1992.
