Russian gun rights activist with many ties to the NRA, the Trump campaign, and Christian conservatives. Facing federal charges for conspiring to act as a Russian agent without registering with the US, Maria eventually pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge while the charge of failing to register as a foreign agent was dropped. On April 26 2019, she was sentenced to 18 months in prison and will likely be deported after serving any time. She was also romantically involved with Patrick M Byrne, CEO of Overstock.com who resigned from this position, citing this affair.
