Established in 2001, the Hunter team and affiliates invest across the spectrum of alternative and liquid assets including real estate, venture capital, private equity, funds and public securities. The firm manages multiple investment funds whose investments have outperformed relevant benchmarks over time.
Beginning in 2011, Duke Buchan III, Founder and CEO of Hunter, was not satisfied with the service he was receiving from traditional high net worth wealth management firms. As a result, he and his team set up a strategic family office to manage the assets of his family. The office oversees the Buchan family’s investment, charitable giving, financial planning, tax, estate and cash management services.
Mr. Buchan and Hunter are based in Palm Beach, FL. The firm is a private investment management firm whose team invests across global markets. Prior to founding Hunter, Mr. Buchan worked at several large financial and Wall Street firms.
Mr. Buchan is actively involved in education and other philanthropic causes. He currently serves as Vice Chair on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Arts and Sciences Foundation Board of Directors, and the Chancellor’s Philanthropic Council.
