Frederick “Rick” Bucholz received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Denver in 1971 and became a licensed real estate broker in Colorado that same year. Rick had a very successful real estate career in the Rocky Mountain area first as a realtor, then also as a consultant, member of the planning commission, and culminating as the Founding Director of the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. Rick accomplished these accolades while serving first as the Vice President and then the President of XH Land and Cattle, located in Saratoga, WY, from 1965 to 2012, and also being an active real estate developer in the Omaha, NE area from 1971 to present. Illustrating Rick’s diverse skills set and interests, he also received his Certified Multiengine Instrument Pilot License in 1974. Rick has been a successful business owner, including a ski shop in the Colorado Mountains, an aviation business in Nebraska, and currently the owner of Plastilite Corporation, which provides insulated and protective packing solutions to companies shipping perishable and fragile products across the United States. Rick serves in a governing capacity on many professional boards and family foundations, including the Carl and Caroline Swanson Foundation, the Gretchen Swanson Family Foundation, Swanson Center for Nutrition, President of the Swanson Enterprises, and past director of the American National Bank. Rick is also a friend to many collegiate and equestrian based associations. He has been a member of the Professional Advisory Committee, College of Architecture, for the University of Nebraska, a member of the AQHA Marketing Committee, and is currently a member of the Foundation Council for the American Quarter Horse Foundation, a member of the Advisory Committee for Equine Science Program at Colorado State University, and a member of the Development Committee for the Equine Initiative at Texas A&M.
